Trees of Yesteryear

Since exploring the concept of The Tree of Life in earlier collographs, I was inspired to focus on creating something more 3-dimensional, using and revitalising found objects, and the plentiful magazines at home containing quality paper great for folding. The first to emerge from this series is 'Stories in the Press' (Bob Dylan, Idiot Wind).

While the tree itself, especially with a star, reflects Christmas symbolism, each work is unique, with a broader emphasis on renewal. Their various bases are round, square, star or diamond shaped, some are covered in vintage wallpaper or prints of my artwork, while the tops are adorned with objects or symbols. Have a look and see what they suggest to you.
