The move to the Blue Mountains also encouraged landscapes and this orange sky series, which was first exhibited at the Window Gallery Lyttleton Stores, Lawson, in August 2018. It focused on themes of nature and renewal...and orange, the colour of August. Since then, more have been added to the series.
The bush backyard, the peaks in the distance, the clean air and change of pace continues to be nourishing and inspiring. The words of this Dylan song, ‘Time Passes Slowly,’ embody this more bucolic existence:
Time passes slowly up here in the mountains
We sit beside bridges and walk beside fountains
Catch the wild fishes that float through the stream
Time passes slowly when you're lost in a dream.
