Myth, poetry, music and art have always been areas of sustained interest and inspiration for May’s art. The first in this series is inspired by the line “Two by two, into the foggy dew” (Dylan, '2 x 2') and Egypt’s famous ‘Meidum Geese’ painting. This fusion provides a vehicle to constantly explore media and reimagine symbols and narratives.

One by one, they followed the sun
One by one, until there were none
Two by two, to their lovers they flew
Two by two, into the foggy dew
Three by three, they danced on the sea
Four by four, they danced on the shore
